Hunter Maverick® TCM Technician-Focused Leverless Tire Changer

The Hunter Maverick® TCM is the base model of Hunter's Maverick® technician-focused tire changer line. It's a center-clamp leverless machine designed and built in the USA. It pairs the convenience of hydraulic movement with the speed and responsiveness of manual operation. The TCM handles rim diameters from 10 to 34 in. and is available in red or black.

Responsive hydraulic controls. The Maverick's controls give fine control or fast movement on demand. More pressure on a control means more speed, and less pressure means finer control. Every function uses one-finger control with strong tactile feedback, and the layout is designed for all-day use.

Self-contained hydraulics. Each tool can move quickly or slowly, or hold in place as needed. Movement stays steady whether the machine is loaded or unloaded. Because the system is hydraulic, contamination in the shop's compressed air isn't a factor.

Articulating leverless system. All tools sync to the rim diameter automatically. The tool head adjusts along with the base for each wheel size. The machine remembers the rim diameter, which speeds up work on a set of wheels.

SmartSet® leverless head. A demounting hook deploys to catch and lift the bead, with no risk of lever damage to the operator or rim. The mount head works with clad, raised-spoke, and other unique wheel designs. An indicator notch shows the proper set height.

RollerLock® clamp. Ball bearing threads clamp quickly and tightly, and the lever handles multiply clamping force. A smooth shaft reduces the risk of center bore damage.

Intelligent safety and productivity. The Maverick monitors roller and hook positions to prevent unintended wheel contact. It automatically returns the rollers and head to their home positions for hands-free productivity. Its software lets the shop customize travel and rotation speeds, ramp rate, and more.

InflationStation™. The TCM inflates the tire to the desired pressure at the press of a button, so the operator can stand back or walk away. Hunter says InflationStation™ is 33% faster than standard inflation systems. Blast inflation delivers a large burst of air for tough bead seating.

Variable speed rotation. Rotation is variable from 0 to 17 rpm for fast cycle times. Reverse rotation is fully variable for maximum control.

Double-duty bead press. The powered bead press uses simple joystick control and handles tough tires. The arm rotates with the wheel, and a bead ledge lets the pusher double as a lifting device.

Match mounting. Bead rollers can spin the tire on the rim, so the tire's stiffest point can be matched to the rim's low spot. This works with Hunter's Road Force Elite® balancer to help eliminate vibration problems that balancers alone can't fix.

Space-efficient footprint. The TCM can be placed right against a wall.

Optional HunterNet® 2 connectivity. The optional HunterNet® 2 Connectivity Kit installs on the back of the machine. It lets the shop:

• Record individual tire changes with inflation pressure.
• Track tire-changing trends and compare them with tires sold and changed.
• Monitor equipment ROI.
• Combine data with other connectable Hunter equipment for a complete shop view.

Optional wheel lifts. The TCM doesn't include a wheel lift, but two are available:

• The optional compact wheel lift (20-4170-1) handles heavy assemblies, including 19.5s. It's well suited to extremely wide wheels, lowers automatically, and can lift a heavy tire while the rim stays clamped.
• An optional pick-and-place wheel lift holds position while elevated and lowers automatically.

Certification. The TCM is listed to the UL201 Garage Equipment Standard by Intertek (ETL). It meets national electrical code requirements for electrically powered shop equipment.
