Electric Vehicles (EVs) like Tesla may not be as popular as conventional cars and trucks, accounting for only about 1-2% of vehicles on the road, but they are making their way into local repair shops.
Ensuring you have the proper tools and service know-how, your shop can capitalize on the EV opportunities in your town. A simple “We Service Teslas” can go a long way on your store’s marquee.

For now, here’s some product information you may find useful as you continue exploring this niche.
Tesla Lift Points
Tesla vehicles typically have designated lift points for service and maintenance. These points are crucial for ensuring the vehicle’s stability and avoiding damage during lifting.
We recommend jack pads to protect the vehicle, battery, and paint from potential damage. The All Part TJP4 Lifting Jack Pads can be used with floor jacks or 2 post lifts.
Lift points can vary between models, so it’s essential to refer to the vehicle’s owners manual for accurate information.
Bluetooth TPMS Sensors
Tesla began equipping its vehicles with Bluetooth enabled TPMS sensors in the 2020 model year. A bluetooth sensor continuously monitors the pressure in the assigned tire and relays that information to an in-car receiver or app. This technology is able to detect when one or more tires is experiencing pressure issues. If you replace a wheel, the TPMS sensors need to be reset to ensure they provide accurate warnings when tires are under or over inflated.
The Dill 2547 OEM Tesla BLE sensor features auto-learn and auto-locate to vehicle while driving, with no need to program. It comes with black stem and hex nut installed.
Valve Stem Repair Kits
If you are servicing a Tesla and find that the valve stem needs to be replaced, you will need a specific product for the job. We recommend the Dill VS490 TPMS Valve Stem for Tesla.EV Diagnostic Systems
EVs require advanced diagnostic tools capable of analyzing their high-voltage system. The Autel MaxiSYS Ultra EV provides comprehensive analysis of electric (and hybrid) vehicles with expanded topology mapping and battery pack analysis, which can be performed OBD or directly with the included specialty cables and jumpers.
